Christmas in Egypt

Christmas time is often said to be the most joyous time of year. With more of a focus on slowing down, absorbing family time, and sharing in abundant meals, it is easy to see why the season is a favorite for many. In upper Egypt, however, where many Christians are living below the poverty line, it can be difficult to properly celebrate due to limited resources and financial constraints. Many families cannot afford a proper feast day meal, as they are struggling day to day just to make ends meet. As with all parents, they long to make Christmas time special for their children; but they cannot do it on their own.

There are currently 25 families in dire need of help in upper Egypt ahead of the Feast of the Nativity. These families cannot afford a proper feast day meal and are turning to us for help. Unheard Cries is working with on-ground representatives to provide food baskets for these families which will include a kilo each of meat, rice, sugar, pasta, and fruit. The total cost of one food basket will be just $16.

With your generous donations, we will be able to provide these families the food they need to observe this holiday season with their loved ones. As we celebrate the coming of Christ, the ultimate gift of God to humanity, let us remember to turn a kind eye to our brothers and sisters, and help them to also celebrate this wondrous occasion in the best way they can.
